Long Island Drunk Driver Hits & Kills Man
A Long Island drunk driver hit and killed an elderly man this morning, at approximately 7:30 a.m.
The fatality occurred on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. The intoxicated driver has since been arrested on DWI charges. The older victim had just exited a bus and was walking across the street, to his King Kullen supermarket job, when he was struck. The man had taken the same route on his way to and from work, for the past six years.
The death occurred on Hempstead Turnpike's most dangerous 16-mile point. There have been over twelve fatalities within the past two years, and is thought to be one of the most dangerous walking areas in Long Island. The deceased's name will be revealed, once his family is notified of his passing.
