Erdogan Defends Turkish-Cypriot's Rights
Turkish-Cypriot daily newspaper Kibris published Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's comments in the article, "We will carry out efforts to use natural gas as a means for peace".
Erdogan stated, "Turkey will continue until the end to defend the rights of the Turkish Cypriots against the Greek Cypriot side's unjust and intransigent stance". During his presence at Ankara's Energy Market Summit, the Turkish leader further commented that the nation won't budge from their stance and will maintain all needed endeavors regarding natural gas and oil reserves.
Erdogan claimed that energy resource advancements should be a tool for gaining peace and prosperity in Cyprus, rather than strife or loss. The Turkish President added, "We are prioritizing this in all projects we are participating in and planning to participate in."
