Venizelos Directs EU-Turkey Association Council
Greek government Vice President and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos chaired the EU-Turkey Association Council, in Luxembourg yesterday.
As reported by ANA-MPA, Venizelos stated that during discussions, the EU referenced Turkey's requirements to improve its relationships with EU members and Additional Protocol implementations. The Council discussed the ongoing UN approved Cyprus talks and their seriousness.
European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule commented that accession advancements can only continue in a constructive way, if progress occurs in a Cyprus solution and in reforms. Turkish EU Affairs Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu expressed his nation's dedication to reform promotion. He highlighted that there shouldn't be any political hurdles in EU membership discussions.
