Orthodox Assembly's Cypriot Concerns

Key speakers called on a viable solution for the island, and hope that strides are gained during current ongoing UN approved discussions between the North and the South. During the dialogue, Minister of Education and Culture Costas Kades also discussed the close relationship between Russia and Cyprus and their respective Orthodox faith.

Kades stated that Orthodoxy has a vital role in offering solutions to many challenges. During the Assembly, the Cypriot Minister cosigned with his Russian, Greek, Lebanese and Armenian colleagues a Joint Declaration that recognizes the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy. The delegates confirmed that the religious body needs to cooperate and work harmoniousy with other cultural and political entities.
