Cyprus Confirms Stellar Israeli Relations
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has stated that Cypriot and Israeli ties are at their highest ever, at a event commemorating citizens who assisted Jewish refugees between 1946 to 1949, as reported by Parikiaki.
He added that hydrocarbon exploration in the two nations have enhanced their collaboration. The President referenced the creation of Cyprus' first embassy in Israel in 1994, followed by Presidential visits between the two in 1998 and 2000. Anastasiades recalled his own travels to Israel in 2013, where hydrocarbon agreements were ratified, further solidifying their relationship.
Anastasiades concluded his remarks with, "During the extensive meetings with officials of the Israeli government, including the Prime Minister, whom we expect to welcome in our country soon, we came to the conclusion that Cyprus and Israel share a common vision: To effectively and strategically upgrade our relations in all possible fields, for mutual benefit. Personally, I will spare no effort and I will provide any necessary assistance to achieve this goal".
