Today, Greek government Vice President and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos spoke to Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry via telephone, regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict and Egypt's ceasefire mission, according to reports.
As reported by ANA-MPA, Venizelos commended his Egyptian colleague for the country's efforts in helping to cease the violence in the region. The Greek Foreign Minister stated Greece's willingness to promote peace, deactivate turmoil and renew communication between the conflicting nations.
Earlier today, Israeli counsellor in Athens Tammy Ben Haim stated at the Israeli Embassy's press conference: "Israel looks to a strong and viable ceasefire and already this morning accepted the Egyptian plan for a ceasefire putting an end to hostilities with Hamas, which, however, continued its launching of rockets up to late afternoon".
