Police on Kos proceeded to a very odd arrest, taking a 65 year old German in custody, on charges of espionage.
As local media report, on Wednesday morning, the arrested man was in a car and approached a military outpost on Kos. Police were immediately notified and reaching the area arrested the man and searched his car.
In the car police found binoculars and a scope, and three camera memory cards all of which were confiscated.
In a search of his home, in the presence of the prosecutor, they confiscated two notebooks with handwritten notes, an external hard drive, two computers, a tablet, five USB sticks, two videocamera cassettes, and a cell phone.
The handwritten notes contained full coordinates of military emplacements, outposts, camps, public buildings, police stations, and other significant buildings.
The German national has been living on Kos for the past two years. All confiscated items have been sent to forensics laboratory for further research and analysis. The man will face the prosecutor.
