Feta War Won Says Harakopoulos
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
"The outcome of a trade deal between the European Union and Canada, is undoubtedly a positive development for Greek feta cheese, largely satisfying Greece's positions on the matter and further safeguarding the interests of Greek farmers," Agricultural Development alternate minister Maximos Harakopoulos said on Saturday.
The minister said the positive outcome of what he called "the feta battle," was to be credited to the coordinated efforts of prime minister Antonis Samaras, who personally intervened to European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, as well as to the actions of EU Commissioner of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Maria Damanaki.
