Armed robbery at Athens Agriculture University with a hint of terrorism

The DNA and fingerprints of the 25-year-old but also his 27-year-old brother who has been convicted of robbery and accused of participating in the Nuclei of Fire Conspiracy are  under the spotlight of Greek police (EL.AS.) officers.

The case was initially treated as a failed money transfer robbery, but counter-terrorist staff are informed of developments and are conducting parallel research.

The 25-year-old's prints were immediately sent to the competent laboratory of EL.AS. In order to be compared with "orphan" DNA findings from the 9 terrorist attacks of the last seven months, but also with others found in previous hideouts of the organization.

According to the latest information, the EL.AS. officers estimate that it may be the action of members of the new generation of the "Nuclei of Fire Conspiracy" or bankrollers of the "revolutionary fund" of domestic neoterrorism.

The 25-year-old has no record and is referenced in connection to meetings with accused members of the underground organization.

Their father was a former well-known trade unionist with SYRIZA party and subsequent candidate of the ruling party in local government and parliamentary elections, and their mother is a member of SYRIZA, a candidate city councilor, and an official at a ministry.

The 25-year-old, who was arrested yesterday for armed robbery at an ATM within the Agricultural University, will be brought to the Prosecutor's Office, while ha second robber who  escaped, remains at large and is being searched by the Police.
