The electricity network operator (DEDDIE) announced on Thursday that electricity has been restored on the island of Poros following a helicopter accident on Tuesday that cut the power supply to the island.
A helicopter ran into power lines on Wednesday and plunged into the channel between Poros and the mainland of Peloponnese, killing the Greek pilot and two Russian passengers. The accident is under investigation, while reports mention that the crash was initially caused by engine failure.
