SYRIZA poses questions about PM Mitsotakis' upcoming meeting with Erdogan

SYRIZA also reiterated its request that the National Council on Foreign Policy be convened so that the opposition can be given a detailed briefing on all crucial developments concerning foreign policy matters and the government's handling of them.

"After Mitsotakis' meeting with the Turkish president in September, the government had leaked that its results 'were better than expected'," SYRIZA noted. Subsequent developments, however, have contradicted the government's claim, the party added, given that in the last two months: 
- refugee flows have increased sharply in comparison with recent years
- Turkey continues its provocative and illegal activity in Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone and the violations of Greek national air space.
- A few days ago Turkey crossed all lines in its provocativeness by proceeding with the signature of an agreement that is completely unfounded and contrary to international law with the government of Libya

"Today we learned from Erdogan that Mitsotakis asked for another meeting on the sidelines of the NATO assembly meeting. The crucial question is what strategy will Mitsotakis adopt to go to the meeting," SYRIZA's announcement said, posing the following questions:
1. Is Mitsotakis going to ask for the immediate termination of Turkey's provocative and aggressive stance in the Aegean and Cyprus' EEZ?
2. Is he going to ask for the immediate withdrawal of the invalid agreement between Turkey and Libya, which violates Greece's sovereign rights south of Crete as provided by the law of the sea?
3. Will he ask for Turkey's strict adherence to the EU-Turkey agreement for reducing migration flows or will he continue a policy of appeasement?
