Six-year-old child found dead after Moria fire

The body of a child about six years old was found dead in the ashes of a fire that broke out in the Moria Reception and Identification Centre (RIC) on Lesvos, the fire brigade announced on Monday.
The fire, which broke out in the asylum-seekers' camp at the hotspot, was brought under control after burning one container, wooden shelters and tents.
Migration minister
Minister of Migration and Asylum Notis Mitarakis expressed his profound sorrow on social media over the loss of a six-year-old child in the fire at the Moria hotspot.
"I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic event of the loss of a six-year-old child following a fire that broke out at the reception and identification facility at Moria. I want to express my sincere condolences to his family," the minister wrote on Twitter.
