Greeks follow Resurrection Liturgy from home and take to balconies to sing hymns with candles (vid)
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Easter was different in Greece, this year, with Greeks spending the holiday away from churches and the usual extended family gatherings.
During the Anastasis, services were conducted by priests in empty churches, usually in the presence of just a cantor.
At midnight, on Saturday, Greeks in all cities took to balconies with candles and sung the Hristos Anesti (Christ has risen) while the sky was lit up with fireworks.
The whole climate was especially moving, as all agree.
