The representatives of Swiss authorities who came to Greece to receive testimonies from all those involved in the case of kickbacks for the supply of the TOR-M1 missiles, yesterday visited former PASOK minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos in jail.
The Swiss bankers questioned Akis Tsochatzopoulos, currently sentenced to 20 years in prison for money laundering and corruption, about his personal and his wife's Vicky Stamati, Swiss bank accounts, They presented evidence that the bank account maintained at the UBS bank in Switzerland by Vicky Stamati, was receiving money from the Liberian company “Bluebell”, which, according to the Greek Justice, circulated black money from the kickbacks for the supply of the TOR-M1 missiles.
According to sources, this evidence rather surprised Tsochatzopoulos, who spoke of absurd findings and insisted he knows nothing. In his attempt to give an explanation, he mentioned a relative of his, whom he did not want to name, claiming that he was the one that deposited 250,000 Swiss francs to Vicky Stamatis’ account from his own resources.
“I have no relationship with Bluebell company, neither does my wife nor any of our relatives”. The company belongs to Nikos Zigras and it has nothing to do with me” the former minister stated.
As for the money found in his wife's Swiss accounts, he said that they were her insurance contract money. "It was deposited by the man who made the contract with my wife, and utilizing a part of my own insurance, that had completed from 35 years of work in Germany. That is, 250,000 were transferred from my insurance and the rest was allocated from the personal resources of the above mentioned man who is relative and whose name I do not wish to reveal."
