The quality checks of the new electric buses, which will strengthen the urban transport fleet of Athens and Thessaloniki, have been completed, during the visit of the Secretary General of Transport, Yiannis Xifaras and the Commission for Receiving Buses and Accessories of the competition, which consists of officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and OSY SA, at the facilities of the "Yutong International Holding" company, in China.
The purpose of the visit was to check the model bus and the accompanying devices, i.e. the charger and the mobile emergency charging unit, in order to establish that they meet the specifications of the tender, financed by the Recovery Fund.
The checks were successfully completed yesterday and the relevant bus inspection protocols were completed, with which the mass production of the vehicles begins.
It is recalled that last Thursday, November 2, 2023, in the context of the meeting held in Beijing by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, with the Management of the Chinese group, "Yutong", the course of completing contractual obligations for the timely supply of buses was discussed and it was confirmed that the timetables that have been set, remain firm.
