Athens prepares for Christmas and New Year's with glorious festivities

From captivating concerts and theatrical performances to enchanting ice rinks and vibrant light displays, the city is ready to deliver magical experiences for everyone.

The Athens Concert Hall sets the stage for unforgettable musical moments with performances by Camerata, a New Year's celebration featuring Viennese melodies, and a New Year's gala dedicated to Puccini by the Athens State Orchestra. 

Other highlights include the enchanting dance performance "The Snow Queen" and the shadow theater adventure "Karagiozis' Christmas in Egypt."

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) transforms into a festive hub with a dazzling ice rink, captivating light installations, and special movie screenings. 

A New Year's Eve concert and fireworks show will illuminate the night sky, and the park will remain open for visitors to celebrate under the stars.

The Greek National Opera presents beloved classics like the ballet "Don Quixote" and the opera "La Bohème," alongside the contemporary performance "Mataroa on the Horizon." 

The Art Theatre offers readings of classic works and holiday-themed plays, while the Maria Callas Municipal Music Theatre presents a modern take on Strauss' "Die Fledermaus."
