Athens Ranked Leading 2015 Tourist Destination
Athens is one of the leading tourist locations in the world this year, according to TripAdvisor.
The premier global travel site determined that Athens ranked 20th within the top 25 destinations on the globe, based on active international website users.
The Greek capital also ranked 10th on the list, regarding European locations. Within Greece, Hania, Crete and Imerovigli, Santorini also placed in the top three Hellenic destinations.
The National Bank of Greece determined that 2015 has experienced a 50% increase in travelers from other nations, with a 9.1% rise in revenues. January arrivals marked 606,100 and tourism gains amounted to 169.7 million euros.
