On Tuesday, Papastavrou is scheduled to meet with Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy.

On June 8-9, the Minister of Environment and Energy, together with his US counterpart, will participate in the Atlantic Council’s annual Global Energy Forum. On Thursday, Papastavrou will travel to Houston, where the ministerial meeting of the 3+1 energy cooperation framework (Greece, Cyprus, Israel and the United States) is expected to take place.

According to sources, discussions during the EMGF ministerial meeting will focus on the forum’s long-term strategic evolution beyond natural gas, as well as issues related to energy security, infrastructure development, investment attraction, regional cooperation, and strengthening the strategic position of the Eastern Mediterranean within the evolving international and European energy landscape.

It is noted that the forum’s members include Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Palestine and France, while the United States, the European Union and the World Bank participate as observers.
