About one billion euros managed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the orders of the European Commission have been granted to Greek businesses as part of the "Juncker package", EIB sources told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Tuesday.
The same sources said Greece is the country with the largest absorption of EIB funding among small EU countries. In 2016, EIB recorded a 5-year record in total funding towards Greece with 1.42 billion euros disbursed out of 1.52 billion signed. In 2017, Greece is expected to register a new record with sums reaching or exceeding two billion euros, the sources said.
