The Germans admit their historic and moral responsibility for crimes committed in Greece during World War II, the German chancellor's envoy to the Greek-German Assembly (DGV) Norbert Barthle said, in an interview to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency released on October 28, a national holiday marking Greece's entry into the war on the side of the Allies.

In the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the military parade began at 11 am on Sunday in Thessaloniki.

"The vision on which this Conference is based is becoming more and more acceptable and important not only for our region but more widely throughout Europe," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said in his speech at the opening of the 3rd Euro-Arab Summit, which is held in Athens.
