Greek citizens are now permanently exempted from the obligation to obtain a visa before travelling to the United States, according to a letter sent by US authorities to Citizen Protection Minister Olga Gerovassili made public on Monday.

The rejection of the US visa application for MEP Stelios Kouloglou, while he was a member of an official European Parliament delegation to visit the US, was the subject of the French newspaper Humanite.
