Government introduces draft bill on gender identity recognition

Every person has a right to the recognition of one’s gender identity, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Wednesday, introducing a draft bill of the Justice ministry that will allow a person to change the sex with which they are officially registered, under certain conditions. 

Vehement opposition to Sunday store openings from small businesses and employees

Greek small- and medium-sized enterprises and traders will resort with the Council of State in case the government decided to legislate on the opening of stores 32 Sundays annually, while strike mobilizations will begin to declare the sector's categorical opposition to such a measure, the sector's representatives (both employers and workers) said during a news conference on Wednesday.

DESFA's role in pipeline operation and maintenance reaffirmed

The intention of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to entrust natural gas grid operator DESFA with the operation and maintenance of the pipeline on Greek territory, as well as the operation and maintenance of TAP in Albania (through the creation of the company DESFA-ALBGAZ), was reaffirmed at a meeting on Wednesday between the heads of the two companies in Athens.
