Long queues outside DEI offices

Long queues have been formed outside the Public Power Corporation DEI offices since early this morning, as the deadline of the scheme that allows consumers to payoff their bills in 36 installments expires today.

Tsipras requests new temporary bill on TV licensing by Monday

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has requested a new legislative initiative concerning the licensing of television stations, which should be presented by Monday (Oct. 31) and asked Parliament president Nikos Voutsis to convene the Conference of Presidents in order to set up the new board of the TV regulator (NCRTV), government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili said on Thursday.

U.S. fully committed to Greece's success, says ambassador Pyatt

The United States is fully committed to Greece’s success and this commitment will be confirmed by the U.S. President Barack Obama during his visit to Athens in November, the U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt said on Thursday, during a visit to Thessaloniki. Pyatt, accompanied by U.S. Consul General Rebecca Fong, held a meeting with Deputy Minister for Macedonia-Thrace Maria Kollia-Tsarouha.
