Main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis attacked the Greek government and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Thursday, as he arrived for the annual meeting of Germany’s CSU party. He expressed hope that the general elections that will be held in Greece in 2019 will deliver a political change and allow ND to take over the country’s governance.

As the year 2019 begins, one of Greece's most important historic and archaeological monuments, the archaeological site at Philippi, is preparing to "travel" to New York through an impressive photography exhibition entitled "Philippi, a Landmark of European Heritage".

"We are a peace-loving country, which considers that our national rights are based on international legality. We naturally expect the other side to act accordingly," Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos commented in response to the latest rhetoric in Turkey, during an interview with the radio station News 24/7 on Thursday.
