Greece back in court over failure to protect sea turtles

Greece has been hauled before the European Court of Justice again for disregarding environmental protection regulations, this time over the absence of measures to protect the loggerhead sea turtles in the Bay of Kyparissia in the southwestern Peloponnese, in a case that dates back to 2012, when the country was given its first warning from the European Commission.

Greek economic sentiment index up to 91.6 points in Jan

Greek economic sentiment index rose significantly to 91.6 points in January, from 87.1 in December, but remained below a 95.9 point level recorded in January 2015, the Institute for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) said on Monday.

Tsipras: Only if we join forces can we succeed

"I deeply believe that the only way to overcome the crisis is to support the weakest ones and at the same time give the chance to restart the economy. We can only succeed if we join forces," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Monday said in his address at the presentation of the Act4Greece Program of the National Bank of Greece (NBG).
