A tornado hit Kalamata on Monday morning causing serious damages to houses, shops, gardens and a cemetery.
"This tornado was a morning devil. During its passage it dragged trucks, cars, roofs of factories, power poles, heavy machineries; it destroyed shop windows and uprooted trees," the mayor of the city Panagiotis Nikas told ANA-MPA. Major damages and problems were also caused by the tornado in the prefecture of Lakonia.
It ripped off roofs from houses, overturnedcars, uprooted trees and destroyed stores. Public Power Corporation (PPC) employees are restoring the damage caused by the bad weather and the blackouts. Four people were slightly injured and transferred in a nearby health center.
