Olympic torch handed to Brazil

Traffic alterations in the city center this afternoon. From 1.30 pm onwards public transport routes will be in effect ahead of the olympic flame ceremony.
The Olympic torch will be formally handed over to Brazil at a ceremony at the old Olympic Stadium at 5 pm.
Police said traffic along the route will be diverted or closed off and parking will be prohibited.
The measures will take effect at 1.30 p.m. and will impact major thoroughfares such as Panepistimiou, Amalias, Stadiou, Akadimias, Vassileos Constantinou and other central roads.
Drivers are advised to avoid driving or parking on these streets and avenues.
