“We don't believe that there is an impasse with the Troika. Talks are continuing in a constructive climate. The aim is to complete them by year's end,” said Antonis Samaras after his meeting with Jose Manuel Barroso in Brussels, on Wednesday.
After the meeting the two officials participated in a broader conference with the participation of government vice president Evangelos Venizelos, finance minister Yannis Stournaras, and monetary affairs commissioner Olie Rehn.
Mr. Barroso expressed his complete support for the sacrifices of the Greek people and the efforts of the Greek government.
