Greek hotel chamber, Foreign Ministry join forces via tourism tool Trip2Athens

As part of its ongoing strategy to better promote Athens and Attica, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) entered a deal this week with the Foreign Ministry to include e-tourism platform Trip2Athens under the umbrella of the ministry’s economic diplomacy program Agora.

 

Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas (photo, L) met with HCH President George Tsakiris and agreed that all tourism-related enterprises in Attica can now join the platform for free. 

As part of the ministry’s Agora program for economic diplomacy, businesses with Trip2Athens will be promoted to tour operators and sector professionals across the globe by the ministry’s economic and trade affairs bureaus worldwide, Minister Mardas said, adding that this will serve as an important link in boosting annual tourism inflows and strengthening the economy.

On his part, Mr Tsakiris added that the agreement aims to further consolidate a framework of cooperation which will secure the necessary synergies are in place to bring added value to the Greek tourism product, which is directly and diversely linked to the national economy. 

The platform, which already represents 2,000 companies, 470 hotels, some 1,000 sites, hundreds of activities and numerous Athens and Attica destinations, offers a channel of communication between Greece-based tourism service providers and travelers wishing to make the best of their Greece experience.

Trip2Athens covers the complete travel experience – in seven languages: Greek, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese – including online booking options for accommodation, contact with tourism agencies and car rental and yachting companies, food and drink, entertainment, shopping choices, in addition to serving as a go-between for businesses seeking new partnerships while offering ground for outward expansion.
