Online booking of travel packages up 75 pct

Online booking of travel packages recorded a 75 percent increase in the nine months of 2016 compared with the same period last year, according to the latest figures of the Greek travel agency ‘Travel Plan.’
This is due to the fact that vacation packages provide very competitive rates and services compared to individual bookings.
A lot of Greeks are expected to travel in the long weekend of October 28-30 with Rome and London among the top choices, the travel agency said.
The new European directive that passed last October in the European Parliament plenary played an important role in Greek travellers’ turn to online vacation packages.
