Green Light for Evia’s Biggest Ever Tourism Investment

RSR Eagle Resort, a tourism project of Arab interests planned for Karystos, Evia, has entered Greece’s fast-track scheme for strategic investments. The decision was published on September 29 in the Government’s Gazette.

Said to be the biggest tourism investment project to be created in Evia and one of the largest in Greece, the luxury resort involves the development of some 395 acres of land that will include hotels, holiday homes, port, sports facilities, wellness center and conference center.

The investment is expected to upgrade the tourism product of the region and significantly strengthen the local community and economy, offering high quality services.

Moreover, the tourism investment is expected to create some 220 new jobs, while the investors have committed to providing specific contributory benefits to the local community.

In the announcement, RSR group, which has already invested heavily in tourism infrastructure in Greece, underlined the importance of the project’s go-ahead and said it hoped that the excellent cooperation of the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism and Enterprise Greece will continue on the same level when the project’s building permit is to be issued.
