Turkish-flagged freighter runs aground off Kos

The Turkish-flagged freighter ALCATRAS on Tuesday run aground in shallow waters 100m off the coasts of Kos island.
According to the freighter's captain the ship has sailed from Tuzla port, Turkey for Antalya carrying technical equipment. The five members of the crew are safe. The captain said that the reason of the accident was failure of the steering gear. No oil slick has been detected.
