Vegans protest in Athens against Easter spit-roasted lamb tradition

A group of vegans took to the streets of Athens to protests against the Easter custom of spit-roasted lamb.
The group was dressed in black and held placards with images of slaughtered lambs and goats on Ermou Street in downtown Athens, Sunday. According to tradition in the Greek Orthodox Christian faith a lamb is spit-roasted on Easter Sunday symbolising the sacrifice of Christ to save humanity.
