Greek film to be screened at NYC Independent Film Festival

The 2018 NYC Independent Film Festival proudly announced that a film from Greece will be part of this year’s festival.
The film is Mum, I’m Back (5 min), directed by Dimitris Katsimiris.
Cast: Eva Koumarianou, Giannis Tsortekis, Thanassis Chalkias, Thodoris Bratsakos, Panos Katsimperis, Yannis Zafiris
According to the plot, a woman returns, after 40 years, to the village where she was born. The cause is the death of her mother. She keeps an old photograph in her hands: a mother with her two sons. Arriving at the cemetery, she encounters the faces of all those she left behind.
Screening: Saturday, May 12 at 6:45pm
Dimitris Katsimiris was born and raised in Rhodes. He has studied and worked as a social worker. In recent years he lives and works in Athens as an actor, writer and director in theater. He has written two theatrical plays and he has directed the award-winning short film 'Birthday'.
About the Festival: the 9th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival, taking place May 7th–May 13th in the heart of New York City, will host an incredible lineup of over 200 films from 35 countries.
The venue for the Festival is The Producers’ Club, which is in the heart of Manhattan’s theater district at 358 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036.
