Former defense minister Tsohatzopoulos to be released from prison
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Five-Member Appeal Court for Suspensions accepted the application for suspension of the execution of the sentence of Akis Tsochatzopoulos for serious health reasons.
In particular, his lawyers have invoked a KEPA statement stating that he was 90% disabled due to cardiac problems.
The former Minister of National Defense will remain out of prison until his case is discussed by the Court of Appeals. He has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for money laundering for armament contracts.
It is noted that Akis Tsohatzopoulos has been held in the Korydallos prison hospital for several weeks.
