Sweeping victory for communist Costas Peletidis in Patras

"The people of Patras with their vote today ensured that the municipality will stay in the people's hands", stated the re-elected mayor of Patras Costas Peletidis, after his sweeping victory in the second round of local administration elections on Sunday.
Peletidis, who is supported by the Communist Party (KKE) of Greece, with 41.27 pct of the votes counted, received 70.40 pct against his opponent Grigorios Alexopoulos who received 29.60 percent.
