Libyan parliament speaker to visit Athens, Libyan ambassador expelled
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives will be in Athens, next Thursday will be in Athens after accepting an invitation.
It is the speaker of the Libyan parliament controlled by forces rival to the Tripoli government who signed the maritime agreement with Turkey.
Indeed, the Libyan parliament has rejected the agreement signed by the Tripoli government with Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It should be noted that the invitation to the President of the Libyan Parliament had been addressed before the developments of the last week, but the acceptance of the invitation at the given time and his presence in Athens cannot be attributed to chance alone and in any case will send an additional message about the lack of legitimacy of the Libya-Turkey agreement.
Libya's Ambassador was expelled
Meanwhile, as already announced today, the Ambassador of Libya is expelled from Greece. According to information, the appointment with FM Nikos Dendia has already been made and announcements are expected. His deportation is assumed and he will be given two days to leave the country. His expulsion came in response to Athens' refusal to give the Greek government the MoU signed by Libya with Turkey
