A car was consumed by flames early Monday morning (23/12), in the Upper Town area of ​​Thessaloniki, allegedly owned by a Turkish diplomat working at the Turkish consulate in the city. The attack occurred at 02:35 on Ioannis Varvaki Street.

The perpetrators put paraffin plates on the rear tires of the vehicle and the car burned within a short time, according to thestival.gr. Seven firefighters with two vehicles, rushed to the scene, according to a post on Twitter.

 A thorough investigation was carried out by the Hellenic Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, and police officers also cordoned the area off. According to the local website, the Turkish diplomat was informed of the incident by a friendly person and went to the spot.
