The first phase of the program of highlighting historic Hellenic Navy shipwrecks, through diving activities, concerning the investigation and recording of the present situation of the historic shipwrecks of HN Warships was successfully completed.

These are the "ARIS" sailing ship that had been captained by revolution of 1821 hero Tsamados, and the destroyers "Vasilisa Olga" and "Hydra".,

The related diving operations for each ship were carried out from early September to mid-November 2019 in the maritime areas. (ARIS and Hydra) of the Saronic Gulf and Laki Island ("Vasilisa Olga").

It is worth noting that all of the aforementioned diving operations were carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Defense, by a staff of the Naval History Research and Documentation Bureau of the Naval History Department of the Naval History Service, in collaboration with the well-known PLANET BLUE organization and deep sea diver Konstantinos Thoctaridis, which provided the research vessel "OCEANIS" with a remote-controlled diving vehicle (ROV) at no cost to the Hellenic Navy. During all these operations, a member of the Ministry of Culture and Sport's Ephorate of Antiquities Committee was present.

According to the Navy's General Staff "the above diving activities are part of a wider effort to highlight the history of the legendary Navy ships, such as the " ARIS" of Tsamados, the" Hydra "and the" Vasilisa Olga".

It is also noted that the second phase of diving activities will follow in 2020, which, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities, will address some of the findings from the historical documentation of diving video material. activities of the first phase.

"The results of the surveys will be displayed in 3D for each ship and then the Naval History Service will organize events to highlight the historic memory of each ship.
