Anti-Fascism Rallies Throughout Greece

Thousands of citizens are expressing their opposition to fascism and Golden Dawn, throughout the country, with messages to isolate the organization in neighborhoods.
Roads around Syntagma Square have been closed off because of a concert by Thanos Mikroutsikos, Rita Antonopoulou, Miltos Paschalidis, Christos Thivaios, Panos Mouzourakis, Kollektiva, Afaza, Dason and other artists, within the framework of a concert organized bKKE affiliated union PAME.
Stadiou Street has now been opened up to traffic.
The anti-fascism events will culminate at 6 this afternoon with the rally by the General Confederation of Workers GSEE at Syntagma Square.
At this time secondary schools teachers are also at the square after assembling earlier at the Athens University rectorship, the Propylaia, within the framwork of the second day of strikes of civil servants union ADEDY against layoffs in the public sector.
Metro stations at Syntagma and Evangelismos have been closed down.
In Thessaloniki, PAME is staging a protest rally at the statue of Eleftherios Venizelos and a concert this afternoon. PAME is also organizing rallies in Ioannina, Larisa, Volos, Trikala, Kozani, and Xanthi.
