The Aiketarini Laskaridis Foundation in Piraeus said on Tuesday it is extending until February 5 the opening of an exhibition dedicated on 30 objects recovered in the recent underwater excavations on the Antikythera shipwreck, due to continuing demand by the public.

Twenty-one objects recovered in the recent underwater excavations on the Antikythera shipwreck will be exhibited for the first time as a unified set at the Aiketarini Laskaridis Foundation in Piraeus in December.

More than 50 objects were recovered during the underwater expedition at the site of the famous Antikythera Shipwreck between 26 August and September 16, the study of which archaeologists hope will expand scientific knowledge about the wreck and its cargo, and will contribute to the understanding of the incident.
