One of the eight Turkish officers who are seeking asylum in Greece after the failed coup in Turkey in 2016 appeared before the Suspension Committee of the Council of State to explain the reasons that led him and his colleagues to escape their country. 

Moody's Investors Service upgraded on Tuesday the long-term deposit ratings of Piraeus Bank and the National Bank of Greece. to "Caa2" from "Caa3", and affirmed Alpha Bank, Eurobank Ergasias and Attica Bank long-term deposit ratings at "Caa3".
