The US presence in Greece and the Republic of Cyprus has been increasing over the past few daays, following the escalation in the Gulf due to the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani last week.

On Monday, December 3, exercise JACKAL STONE 18 begins in Greece. The exercise aims at enhancing the interoperability of American and Allied forces in the design and execution of interdisciplinary joint operations, focusing on Special Operations.

A combined multi-day air force exercise with a Greek dimension was carried out by the Israeli Air Force last week.
