European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Gunther Oettinger expressed his reservations regarding the legality of the procedures of the tender for the TV licences in Greece, responding to a question submitted by MEP Eva Kaili.

The tender for the TV licenses was absolutely successful, State Minister Nikos Pappas said in statements outside the building of the General Secretariat of Information and Communication early on Friday.

"I did not expect such a high price," he added.

"The tender was absolutely sacksful and gives Greece the opportunity to take a step forward to a new television era, where legitimacy is crystal clear," he underlined.

Skai TV, Ioannis Kalogritsas, ANTENNA TV and Alter Ego of Vangelis Marinakis are the winners of the the TV licences after 66 hours of bidding.
The total amount the Greek state will receive is 246 million euros.
