Alternate Environment and Energy Minister Sokratis Famellos appealed to Greek municipal authorities to cooperate with efforts to publish maps defining the extent of Greece's forested areas as quickly as possible, in a letter sent to the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) on Wednesday.

Greek film and television director Nikos Koundouros passed away on Wednesday, at the age of 90. Koundouros had been admitted to hospital with respiratory complaints in recent weeks.
