Tourist arrivals to exceed 28.5 mln this year

Tourist arrivals are expected to exceed 26 million this year from 24.8 million in 2016, while including sea cruise arrivals could surpass 28.5 million despite a 20 pct decline in sea cruise traffic because of geopolitical developments in the wider Southeastern Mediterranean, the Institute of Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) said in a report on Greek tourism.

Athens tour guide school to reopen, after seven years

A pledge by Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura to reopen the Athens Guide School was met via a Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD) issued by the tourism and education ministries on Wednesday, which ordered that the school reopen after seven years.

Key section of Ionian highway opens to traffic

Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis on Wednesday officially opened the 27-km section of the Ionia highway between the Amphilochia junction and the Arta ring road, during a low-key ceremony held at the 124th km of the highway.
