Travel between the port of Piraeus and Athens International Airport will take approximately 45 minutes on an electric train set to operate in June, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirtzis said recently during his visit to the central Athens hub.

Chinese shipping giant Cosco will dish out some 500 million euros over and above the paying price for the port of Piraeus, its managing director, Xu Lirong, said this week during talks with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who is in China on an official five-day visit to attract investments.

A ferry arrived early this morning in Piraeus that held approximately 2,500 refugees and migrants, after traveling from Samos and Lesvos.
