Τhe meeting of US Secretary of State Mike Pombeo with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias was heralded as confirmation of the importance of Greek-American relations by the State Department.

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias departed for the United States on Tuesday, where he is to have a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday focusing on bilateral, regional and international affairs.

The State Department calls for the immediate reopening of the Theological School of Halki, according to the State Department’s annual report on religious freedoms in the world for 2018.
