Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has asked United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to assist in Turkey's illegal acts, concerning the Republic of Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone.

Cyprus' 54th anniversary of British independence under colonial rule, was celebrated in Manhattan last night; the event was organized by the Cypriot Consulate and its Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon meet with Turkish-Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu, during the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly, at UN headquarters in Manhattan.
