Dozens of British tourists have been trapped for two days at the airport in Zakynthos, unable to return to their homeland.

Large quantities of Holothuroidea, also known as sea cucumbers, sold abroad for 1,000 euros per kilo were fished by Chinese nationals in the Maliakos gulf for export and sale abroad. The animal is considered a delicacy in most Asian cultures, as well as having medicinal qualities attributed to it.

Firefighters fought an overnight battle with the flames in Anavyssos in order to cope with the fire that has been burning from around five in the afternoon of Monday, in a forest area in Agios Panteleimonas, on Skordi hill.
